What is the UPGRADE Match Saving Initiative?
What We Offer
Matched Savings Opportunities
- Education: Save toward post-secondary education or vocational training while building skills to support long-term career and income growth
- Homeownership Savings: Build savings for a first-time home purchase expense while preparing for sustainable homeownership
- Emergency Savings: Create an emergency fund for unexpected, essential expenses that threaten housing, employment, or health.
Who Can Participate?
Participants must:
- Live in Philadelphia
- Have household income at or below 350% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Have a steady source of earned or unearned income
- Be willing to save monthly and complete the required financial education
- Meet asset-specific criteria:
- Education: enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited postsecondary institution
- Homeownership: first-time homebuyer
- Emergency Savings: associated with a CWF program
Income Eligibility
The participant must have a household-adjusted gross income (AGI) that is equal to or less than 300% of the poverty line. See the chart to determine your income based on your family size.
