Unlocking Benefits and Resources

What is a Public Benefit?

  • Public benefits, also known as social welfare or social services, are government-funded assistance programs that provide financial aid and services to individuals and families in need. They support low-income individuals, the elderly, the disabled, and children.

  • Benefit programs include food assistance, healthcare, housing vouchers, unemployment compensation, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Their aim is to reduce economic disparities and ensure access to basic necessities.

  • Eligibility is based on factors like income, family size, and specific needs.
